Mover

Meta Muse vs Mover OS: what's actually different?

Updated .

Meta Muse is a free-to-start consumer app with its own cloud computer that shops, books, and manages household tasks for you, available only in the US and Canada. Mover OS is a $49 one-time addition to the Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI you already use, that remembers your plan and pushes back when you drift from it. Muse acts in the world on your behalf; Mover keeps your own AI agent honest about what you said you'd do.

Price and plansFree for up to 100 million tokens per week. Power $20/month and Maximum $100/month buy more usage, not extra features. source$49 once for the first 20 buyers, then $79. Tax included. 30-day money-back guarantee. All v4 updates included. Not a subscription. source
AvailabilityUS and Canada only. Explicitly NOT available in the UK, Ireland or the EU as of 1 October 2026. sourceRuns wherever the user's own Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI subscription already runs; Mac, Windows and Linux. source
PlatformsiOS, Android, muse.ai (web), directly in WhatsApp, and a Mac app (no Windows app). Coming to Meta AI glasses. Standalone hardware "Muse Charm" expected US-first, December 2026. sourceClaude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline and 7 more agents (13 total). source
Underlying modelMeta's own model, internally "Avocado" (Muse Spark), for nearly every session. One independently-exported session showed a subagent task routed server-side to a model tagged azure/muse-special, likely an OpenAI model served via Azure; this is Meta's own infrastructure choice, not a user-facing way to plug in an outside account. sourceNot a separate model. Mover runs inside whichever AI agent and model the user already has (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, etc.); it does not supply or swap the underlying model itself. source
Where memory livesYes, named and documented: MEMORY.md plus dated files under memory/ and memory/bank/, inside the user's isolated cloud VM. "You can find out what Muse remembers about you at any time by asking directly, or by viewing files like your MEMORY.md." A named "Forget skill" removes specific topics/people; a full reset deletes all Muse data. sourcePlain markdown files on the user's own computer. "100% plain markdown files", "0 notes uploaded by Mover", every file stays the user's, including if they leave. source
Always onYes. "Muse keeps things moving after you close the app. It monitors, follows up, and sends a notification when something needs your attention." sourceNo. Does not run 24/7 on its own; it has no computer or browser of its own, no phone app, and does no errands. It runs inside the AI agent session the user opens, plus a local dashboard and a daily routine of workflows (/morning, /plan-tomorrow, /log, /analyse-day, /review-week). source
Own computer / browserYes. Runs in "Muse Secure VM", a dedicated isolated cloud VM per user, with its own browser. A separate "Sentinel" agent is the sole permission authority for network egress and connector actions. sourceNo. No computer or browser of its own. source
IntegrationsGmail, Google Calendar, HealthEx, OpenTable, Facebook, Instagram, Peloton, Plaid/Finances, Function Health, Google Contacts at launch; Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Instacart, Notion, GitHub, Gap, Wayfair, Expedia, Granola, Shopify (via Shop Pay), PayPal added at Meta Connect (23 Sep). Checkout runs through Link by Stripe. sourceWorks inside the AI agents themselves rather than connecting to third-party consumer apps (no Gmail/Calendar/Shopify-style connector list); ships with pre-installed skills, agents and hooks inside the AI agent's own configuration. source
Trains on your data by defaultON by default at first use. Toggle under Settings > Data controls turns it off. Excluded from ad targeting regardless of this setting. sourceNot applicable: nothing is uploaded to Mover's own servers to train on. "0 notes uploaded by Mover." source

Who should pick which?

Pick Muse if…

Pick Muse if you're in the US or Canada and want an agent that can independently browse, fill out forms, check out purchases through Link by Stripe, and manage household tasks like dinner planning or garage-door repair calls, and you're comfortable with Meta's default data-training setting until you turn it off.

Pick Mover if…

Pick Mover if you're not chasing errands, you're trying to keep a work plan on track inside an AI coding agent you already have, and you'd rather your notes stay as plain files on your own computer than live inside a company's cloud VM.

Mover is the wrong choice if…

Mover is the wrong choice if what pulled you toward Muse is its ability to act in the world: booking things, calling vendors, checking out a purchase. Mover does no errands, has no browser or computer of its own, and won't book you anything. If that's what you want, Muse (where available) is the honest fit, not Mover.

What do users say?

“I'm slowly cleaning up the suburbs with Muse. Saw this mess of wires on a pole. Took a picture and asked Muse to contact Verizon to get them cleaned up... 'Someone should do something about that' is now a prompt.”

@toddsaunders, Meta Muse

“This weekend, I used Instinct to order bagels for my son's birthday. When I arrived to pick them up, the store hadn't received the order... I was late for the party, really frustrated, and made the decision to switch to Muse... Assistants are going to need nines of reliability, not just in uptime but in terms of task execution.”

@benspringwater, Meta Muse

“I used to use chat GPT for everything I needed, but I get more done with muse in 30 minutes than I do in 2 hours with chat gpt... My favorite part about it is the NO BS opinions it gives me. Chat gpt will tell me what I want to hear most of the time.”

kingbulltrev, App Store review "Better than gpt", Meta Muse

“It's cute. It's cuddly. And it wants all your data.”

NBC News, Meta Muse

“It shortens the gap between wanting to do something or an idea and execution on a very granular level.”

Ishaaq, Creative Director, Mover OS

Common questions

Is Mover available where Muse isn't?

Yes, this is a real practical difference. Muse is US and Canada only as of this research. Mover runs wherever your Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI subscription already runs, since it's files read by the AI you already have, not a separate regional service.

Does Mover upload my notes to a server the way Muse's VM does?

No. Mover is 100% plain markdown files on your own computer, with nothing uploaded to Mover's own servers. Muse's memory lives inside an isolated cloud VM Meta operates ("Muse Secure VM"), which the company states is disassociated from your account for training purposes but is still Meta's infrastructure, not yours.

Does Mover have anything like Muse's Ideas and Goals tabs?

Only loosely: Mover tracks your plan and goals in files it reads every session and prompts you through a daily routine (a morning brief, a plan for tomorrow, an end-of-day log, a weekly review), rather than a proactive suggestions feed.

Which one costs less over a year?

Mover: $49 once, with a 30-day refund, and nothing more ever due. Muse: free up to 100 million tokens a week, but $20 or $100 a month if you need more, which is $240 to $1,200 a year if you're on a paid tier.

Mover OS: $49 once, plain files on your own machine, inside the AI you already use.
