Google Gemini Spark in India: unconfirmed (5 October 2026)
Google Gemini Spark is not confirmed as available in India, because neither Google page we read on 5 October 2026 lists the countries where Spark works. The Spark page says it is open to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in "select countries" Google Spark page, and Google's blog post of 30 July 2026 says Pro access started in over 160 additional countries Google blog, 30 July 2026.
A reader in India should treat the question as open until Google names India. This page sets out what each source says, what neither says, and what else bears on a purchase decision.
Is Spark available in India?
Google gives no yes or no for India on either page we read. The Spark page limits availability to "select countries" and lists none Google Spark page. The 30 July 2026 post gives a count of countries and no list Google blog, 30 July 2026. India does not appear in the text of either page as a Spark country.
Google's post of 30 July 2026 says Spark access began for Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 additional countries, and neither Google page read on 5 October 2026 names India. Google blog, 30 July 2026 Google Spark page
| Source | What it says about where Spark is available | Does it name India? |
|---|---|---|
| Spark page, read 5 October 2026 | Available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in select countries, and to select business users. Google Spark page | No country list in the text we read. Google Spark page |
| Blog post, 30 July 2026 | Access for Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 additional countries, starting that day. Google blog, 30 July 2026 | No country list in the post. Google blog, 30 July 2026 |
| Blog post, Chrome auto browse | Rolling out initially in the U.S., with plans to expand to additional regions in the future. Google blog, 30 July 2026 | No regions named for the expansion. Google blog, 30 July 2026 |
The blog's edition menu lists India (English) among its regional editions Google blog, 30 July 2026. That menu is part of the blog's page layout and the post does not tie it to Spark availability, so it counts as no evidence either way.
Which plans get Spark?
The Spark page describes Gemini Spark as "currently available for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in select countries as well as select business users" Google Spark page. The small print at the foot of that page reads "Subscription required. Compatibility and availability vary. 18+." Google Spark page
Google also says it is "rapidly expanding access to more users and businesses over the coming weeks" Google Spark page. That sentence carries no date. The only dated expansion in what we read is the 30 July 2026 post, which names Google AI Pro subscribers Google blog, 30 July 2026. Our reading was more than two months later, so Google's country coverage may have moved since the post.
The age limit and the subscription requirement apply wherever Spark is open. A person in India who is under 18, or who does not hold a qualifying Google AI plan, is outside the stated conditions whatever the country list turns out to be.
What did the 30 July post say?
The post, headed "Gemini Spark now integrates with Chrome", carries the date 30 July 2026 and two bylines: Adam Coimbra, Director, Product Management, Gemini app, and Charmaine Dsilva, Senior Director, Product Management, Chrome Google blog, 30 July 2026. It makes two announcements.
The first is geographic. Google wrote that it was "rolling out access for Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 additional countries starting today" Google blog, 30 July 2026. The figure is Google's. The post does not say how many countries already had Spark before that day, and it does not list the 160.
The second is Chrome auto browse. With your permission, Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle web errands such as scheduling viewings for saved apartments or researching flight options and starting the booking process. Google says it guards against threats like prompt injection and hands the task back to you for sensitive actions such as payments Google blog, 30 July 2026. These capabilities were "initially rolling out in the U.S." with plans for additional regions, and the post gives no date or region list for that expansion Google blog, 30 July 2026.
A country can therefore have Spark without having Chrome auto browse. For India, the post supports neither half as a yes.
What does Spark actually do?
Google's page calls Spark a 24/7 personal AI agent. You give it a task and it works in the background, "even if your phone and laptop are turned off" Google Spark page. The same page says you choose to turn it on and that it is designed to check with you before taking major actions Google Spark page.
It connects natively with Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, YouTube and Google Maps, and those connections are turned off by default until you enable them in settings Google Spark page.
Google describes three working parts. Tasks put the agent to work across your Google Workspace apps. Skills define how you want Spark to handle things you do often. Schedules set time-based or conditional triggers Google Spark page. One example on the page is a Monday 9:00 AM schedule that scans the past week of email, writes a recap and a prioritised to-do list, and books calendar blocks for deep work Google Spark page.
On privacy, Google answers the question "Is Gemini Spark reading my emails 24/7?" with "No", saying it does not read email indiscriminately and works under your direction Google Spark page. The page also carries the instruction "Check responses. Supervise closely, interrupt when needed." Google Spark page
How can you check for India?
The Spark page answers "Where can I get Gemini Spark, and when is it coming to me?" with the select-countries wording quoted above, and adds a pointer to a separate Spark availability page Google Spark page. The text we captured does not include that page's address, so it is not linked here. That separate page is the first place to look for a country list.
The Spark page also carries a "Try Gemini Spark" button Google Spark page. We did not sign up or test from an account in India, so this page makes no claim about what that button does there.
Until Google lists India, a purchase of a Google AI plan made mainly for Spark carries the risk that the feature is not yet open to your account. Google's own footer, "Compatibility and availability vary", is consistent with that Google Spark page.
For other agents with country-by-country checks, the availability hub covers several products. If Spark does not reach you, the personal AI agent alternatives page lists other options with their dates.
