Google Gemini Spark in Australia: availability unconfirmed
Google Gemini Spark is not confirmed for Australia, because neither Google page we read names the country. Google says Spark is open to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in select countries Spark page, and on 30 July 2026 it began rolling out Pro access in over 160 additional countries Google blog.
Both pages were read on 5 October 2026. A count of countries is all they give, so an Australian reader cannot confirm access from either one.
Is Gemini Spark in Australia?
Neither Google page says whether Australia is covered. Google's 30 July 2026 post opens Gemini Spark to Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 additional countries, and when we read it on 5 October 2026 its text named no country. Google blog The Spark page itself says only that Spark is available in "select countries". Spark page
Because the post gives a count and no list, the count cannot be matched against Australia. The blog's footer does offer an "Australia (English)" edition of the blog. Google blog That entry is a menu choice for the blog's own edition, and the post text attaches no availability statement to it.
The Spark page carries a similar region and language menu. The part we read ends in the Americas, before any Asia Pacific entries, so it shows nothing about Australia either way. Spark page
Who can use Gemini Spark?
Google describes Spark as currently available for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in select countries, as well as select business users. Spark page The same page closes with "Subscription required. Compatibility and availability vary. 18+." Spark page
| Page | Who it says can use Spark | Countries named |
|---|---|---|
| Spark page | Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers over 18 in select countries, plus select business users Spark page | None in the text we read Spark page |
| Google blog, 30 July 2026 | Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 additional countries, from the day of the post Google blog | None in the text we read Google blog |
The post mentions Pro subscribers only for the expansion, so it says nothing about Ultra subscribers in those countries. Google blog Neither page gives a price for either plan. Google also says it is expanding access to more users and businesses "over the coming weeks", which means the position can shift after the date of our reading. Spark page
What does Gemini Spark do?
Google's description is an agent that works in the background around the clock, even if your phone and laptop are turned off. You choose to turn it on, and Google says it is designed to check with you before major actions. Spark page
Work is organised as Tasks, Skills and Schedules. Tasks connect Spark to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides. Skills define how Spark handles things you do often, and Schedules set time-based or conditional triggers. Spark page Spark can also connect to Drive, YouTube and Google Maps, and every one of these app connections is off by default until you switch it on in settings. Spark page
One of Google's own example schedules is a Monday 9:00 AM pass over the past week of email, ending in a prioritised to-do list and calendar blocks for deep work. Spark page The page ends with its own caution to "Check responses. Supervise closely, interrupt when needed." Spark page
Does Chrome auto browse work there?
Chrome auto browse is a separate feature with its own, narrower rollout. With your permission, Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle web errands such as scheduling viewings for saved apartments or researching flights and starting the booking. Google says it hands the task back to you for sensitive actions such as payments. Google blog
On where it works, Google writes that these capabilities are "initially rolling out in the U.S." with plans to expand to additional regions in the future. Google blog Australia is not named, and the post gives no date for the later regions. An Australian subscriber, if Spark itself is open to them, should therefore not assume Chrome auto browse comes with it.
What would settle the question?
Google naming Australia on either page would settle it. The Spark page also points to a separate availability page for more detail, which we did not read because it is outside the two pages this check covers. Spark page The Spark page has a "Try Gemini Spark" button, and its text does not say what an Australian visitor sees after pressing it. Spark page
Another dated availability check on this site, Meta Muse in the UK, shows how a country question gets recorded against a primary page. For a wider view of agents that run on your own machine or elsewhere, the comparison of personal AI agents sets them side by side.

How we checked
We read the text of Google's Gemini Spark page and of Google's 30 July 2026 Spark post on 5 October 2026. In the text we read, the only appearance of Australia is an "Australia (English)" entry in the blog's edition menu, and the region menu we read on the Spark page ends before any Asia Pacific entries.
No forum thread count is used on this page. We did not read the availability page that the Spark page links to.
Last verified 5 October 2026. Checked against both Google pages on 5 October 2026, with the caveat that Google describes access as expanding over the coming weeks.
