Mover

Gemini Spark vs Mover OS: what's actually different?

Updated .

Google's Gemini Spark is a 24/7 cloud agent bundled into Google AI Ultra or Pro subscriptions, deeply tied into Gmail, Docs and Workspace, running on its own Google Cloud VM. Mover OS is a $49 one-time addition to Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI that tracks your plan and pushes back when you drift. Spark's own reviewers keep raising the same criticism: much of what it does, Gemini itself already does. Mover isn't competing on that ground at all; it's a different job.

Underlying modelGemini 3.5 Flash, using the Google Antigravity agent harness sourceNot a separate model. Mover runs inside whichever AI agent and model the user already has (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, etc.); it does not supply or swap the underlying model itself. source
Where memory livesNo distinct named memory file system found; a reviewer describes it drawing on Gemini's cross-product "Personal Intelligence" context rather than a separate Spark memory store. sourcePlain markdown files on the user's own computer. Always onYes. "Give it a task and it works in the background 24/7, even if your phone and laptop are turned off... It runs on dedicated virtual machines on Google Cloud." sourceNo. Does not run 24/7 on its own; it has no computer or browser of its own, no phone app, and does no errands. It runs inside the AI agent session the user opens, plus a local dashboard and a daily routine of workflows (/morning, /plan-tomorrow, /log, /analyse-day, /review-week). source

IntegrationsGmail, Google Docs, Slides and Workspace tools out of the box; Canva, OpenTable, Instacart, Dropbox, Zillow Rentals; Google Tasks and Keep (added Jun 2026); custom MCP server support (added Jun 2026). sourceWorks inside the AI agents themselves rather than connecting to third-party consumer apps (no Gmail/Calendar/Shopify-style connector list); ships with pre-installed skills, agents and hooks inside the AI agent's own configuration. source
Trains on your data by defaultYes. Spark works only with Keep Activity on, Keep Activity is on by default for adults, and Google says it uses that activity to improve its services, including training generative AI models. Turning Keep Activity off stops future chats being used. sourceNot applicable: nothing is uploaded to Mover's own servers to train on. "0 notes uploaded by Mover." source

Who should pick which?

Pick Gemini Spark if…

Pick Gemini Spark if you're already paying for Google AI Ultra or Pro and live inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides, and want a 24/7 agent that can act across that Workspace ecosystem plus, since July 2026, browse the open web through Chrome with your saved logins.

Pick Mover if…

Pick Mover if you're not trying to automate Workspace tasks, you're trying to keep a Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI coding session honest about a plan across sessions, something Spark isn't built to do at all.

Mover is the wrong choice if…

Mover is the wrong choice if what you want is Spark's actual strength: a cloud agent that keeps working on Workspace-flavored tasks (a spreadsheet, an inbox scan, a scheduled research check) 24 hours a day whether or not your laptop is open. Mover has no cloud computer of its own and does nothing while you're not in a session.

What do users say?

“Gemini Spark found my resume, scanned my old applications, and built a job list in five minutes, yet almost everything it does, Gemini already does... What bothers me much more than the actual issues I ran into with Spark is how much of what it does is already possible with Gemini.”

Ruben Circelli, PCMag, Google Gemini Spark

“I asked it to delete all my old marketing spam emails. It spend like half an hour processing, then it quit with an error. Guess it's not really ready for prime time.”

Reddit user, r/Gemini (via Reddit Sentinel Analyzer archive), Google Gemini Spark

“I paid for Google's Gemini Ultra plan ($100/month) to get early access to Gemini Spark, and I came away with a split opinion: this is one of the most capable hosted agents I've used, and I still can't tell most people to buy it yet... There's no real extensibility, and that's the dealbreaker.”

John Siwicki, Google Gemini Spark

“I liked it early on. Seemed way more stable than Gemini proper in regards to crashes... But as of late has been way less stable, worse then gemini. Gets stuck thinking way too often, and now will crash the convo and you need to start a new chat.”

Reddit user, r/Gemini (via Reddit Sentinel Analyzer archive), Google Gemini Spark

“It shortens the gap between wanting to do something or an idea and execution on a very granular level.”

Common questions

Does Mover need a Google AI Ultra or Pro subscription?

No. Mover has no connection to Google's subscriptions at all; it runs inside Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and other AI agents you already have, independent of which Google plan, if any, you're on.

What's the most common criticism of Gemini Spark from real reviewers?

That much of what it does duplicates Gemini itself. One widely read review put it directly: "almost everything it does, Gemini already does," and questioned why Spark needs to be a separate branded surface at all rather than a mode inside the main Gemini app.

Is Gemini Spark available outside the US?

Yes, as of 30 July 2026 it expanded to Google AI Pro subscribers in 160-plus additional countries, having started with US-only Google AI Ultra subscribers in May 2026. Exact country-by-country availability wasn't published in full in sources read.

Does Mover connect to Gmail or Google Docs the way Spark does?

No. Mover doesn't integrate with third-party apps like Gmail or Docs at all; it works from plain markdown files and the AI agent session you're already in, with no Workspace connection of any kind.

Mover OS: $49 once, plain files on your own machine, inside the AI you already use.
