Mover Beta

Is there an AI that pushes back on me instead of agreeing?

Updated .

Yes, and the kind matters. Decidi, Contria and MyThinkTank push back on your ideas and beliefs. Mover OS pushes back on what you do: when you start on something that is not in today's plan, it says so and asks if it is on purpose source. Mover is $49 once and runs on the Claude, Codex or Gemini plan you already pay for.

What kinds of pushback are there?

Some tools argue with what you think. Others question what you do. They solve different problems, so pick by the one you have.

Pushback on your ideas

Pushback on what you do

How does Mover push back?

Mover's pushback is built from your own plan, so it has something to point at. It works in steps, and the npm page calls them speed bumps, not walls npm. At the start of a session, if your first request skips the top item in today's plan, the morning workflow has Mover name the plan and ask whether the change is on purpose. If you say yes, it asks for one sentence on why. If you give a reason, it logs it and suggests a time box before you return to the plan.

The same npm page lists a second kind of pushback it calls Strategic Validation: Mover acts as an intellectual opponent and tests your logic before you spend time on an idea npm. So Mover covers both kinds, with the plan as its centre.

A worked example: Sam and Pawpath

Sam is an invented person. Sam is building Pawpath, a booking app for dog walkers. Everything below comes from an example Mover vault used for demos, so no real person's notes are shown. The goal lines and the tasks are made up. The two lines marked as Mover's wording are the app's own, with Sam's task filled in.

Same promise, four Mondays. Sam's notes keep a dated list of what Sam said. The line has not changed in a month.

## Said (dated)
- Mon 1 Sep: "Starting Monday I run at 6."
- Mon 8 Sep: "Starting Monday I run at 6."
- Mon 15 Sep: "Starting Monday I run at 6."
- Mon 22 Sep: "Starting Monday I run at 6."

An agreeing chatbot would take the fifth Monday at face value. Mover's night review is written the other way. Its rules say not to accept “I'll do better tomorrow” as a plan, because that is a wish, and to ask what specific thing changes tomorrow. They also say to ask why before accepting “I was tired”, because tiredness is a symptom and the cause is underneath.

The in-the-moment version. On a workday Sam types that he will do the logo first, and the logo is not on the list. Mover answers with one question and two choices.

Your plan puts “Email 5 dog owners the beta link” first, and this isn’t on today’s list. On purpose?

Mover's wording, with Sam's task filled in. The choices under it are Back to it and On purpose.

From the second detour in a day, the app's line opens with “No, no, no.” before it repeats the point. It gets firmer, and Sam still decides.

When Mover is the wrong pick

Pick something else if…

You want a strong argument against one decision or belief, then you are done: Contria and Decidi are built for that, and they need no setup. You want a human to push on you: pick a coach. Mover's pushback is about your plan, so it needs a plan in your notes to work from. It says plainly that it is not for you if you want to be agreed with source.

Common questions

Can I make Claude push back without Mover?

You can try. Claude Code reads CLAUDE.md files at the start of every session, so you can write rules there that say to challenge your plans Claude Code docs. Anthropic says Claude treats those files as context, not enforced configuration, and to block an action no matter what Claude decides you need a PreToolUse hook Claude Code docs.

Will Mover stop me from working on something else?

No. It asks if it is on purpose and lets you answer. The npm page calls its pushback speed bumps, not walls npm.

Does Mover only push back on my plan?

It also tests ideas. The npm page lists Strategic Validation, where Mover acts as an intellectual opponent and tests your logic before you invest time npm.

Mover OS: $49 once. It questions what you do against your own plan, inside the AI you already use.
